The first week of the EuroProBasket Women’s program a sports director and coach of a well respected team in Alicante paid a visit to scout players in the program. He instantly noticed and took special interest in one player.
The player that drew his attention was Bianca Valderrama from Corpus Christi, Texas.
Bianca attended EuroProBasket to gain exposure and opportunities to play professionally in Europe. The fact that she played her last season in 2018-19 made getting offers very difficult due to that gap in playing competitive basketball.
She had a good collegiate career which started at Neosho County Community College in Kansas and led to UT Tyler, an NCAA DII program in Texas.
Her senior year at UT Tyler Bianca Valderrama averaged 12.7 points, 4.4 rebounds while shooting 46% from the two and 34% from the three.
During her time in the EuroProBasket program Bianca improved, got into her playing rhythm and showed the staff of the program and coaches visiting what she was capable of.
Bianca was invited to a multi day tryout in Alicante, Spain resulting from the visit of the coach her first week here at EuroProBasket. This opportunity might lead to her first season playing basketball overseas. Best of luck Bianca!
