Following a standout performance at the European Summer League in June of 2026, Dutch basketball player Tristan Wildering has officially signed his first professional contract outside of his home country, with a team in Alicante, Spain. The shooting guard/point guard’s solid play, impressive work ethic, and leadership qualities were key factors in securing the deal.
Tristan Wildering, who is 6’2″, has built a strong resume playing in the Netherlands and Germany. He has a history of winning, having been a national champion in the Netherlands in 2017 for 3×3, and again in 2021-22 at the U18 level. He also holds multiple U19 and senior-level championships in the Netherlands, including a 1st division championship in 2023-24 and a cup championship. His most recent success comes from the 2024-25 season, where he was a Regionalliga North champion in Germany with the EWE Baskets Juniors.
During his time with Lokomotief Basketball Academy U19 and Lokomotief Rijswijk senior teams, Wildering showcased his offensive abilities. In the 2023-24 season with the U19 team, he averaged 12.1 points per game over 33 games, with 237 three-pointers made. That same season, he also played for Lokomotief Rijswijk’s first and second senior teams, averaging 7 and 10.8 points per game, respectively.
Wildering’s new contract represents a significant step forward in his basketball career. His journey from the youth leagues in the Netherlands to a professional contract in Spain highlights his dedication and development as a player. The move to Alicante offers him a new challenge and an opportunity to further refine his skills on the European stage.
