YANIS KHALED

Yanis Khaled, 6’0″ Canadian/French Combo Guard, from Montreal Canada, signed with a team in Peñíscola, Spain for the 2022-23 season. He attended EuroProBasket following a season playing in Morocco. Prior to his first experience playing professional basketball, Yanis Khaled played for Cegep Edouard Montpetit D2 in Canada’s CCAA. A local Spanish team started showing interest in Yanis and attended a game with the coach, GM and President. That night they decided to sign Yanis and the following week he left to his new team. This is what Yanis Khaled had to say about his experience at EuroProBasket: “At first I was a bit skeptical about it but then I saw the website & saw all the information to reassure me. The fact that the program is located in the famous l’Alqueria del Basket in Valencia sealed my choice. During my time here, my teammates showed nothing but love. The various coaching staff are highly qualified and knows what are the realities of European basketball and what teams expect of you. I really enjoyed my time in Valencia, you got 2 training per day and finish the day at 5 pm. After that, i liked to use my free time to visit the city, which is beautiful. would definitely recommend EuroProBasket program to anybody who hasn’t played in Spain yet, this is the perfect opportunity to get your foot in the door. Spain is one the greatest country for basketball, you can’t got wrong with this one. My best advice will be to come here with an open mind. You will be immerse in a different culture, with different teammates & coaches who also have their owns. Try to be like a sponge, absorbing everything you can on & off the court. Also, be ready to get mentally & physically challenged by coaches as if your not used to it. European basketball is both equally played with the body & the mind. On that last note, don’t forget to enjoy yourself, training in one of the best facility in the world” – Yanis Khaled
