EuroProBasket has run programs in Spain since 2015 — in Girona until 2018, and in Valencia since. More than 400 players have signed or committed to professional contracts and university scholarships across 25+ countries; the Players Signed page is the record. Training runs inside L'Alqueria del Basket, the official home of Valencia Basket. EuroProBasket also partners with Carleton University in Canada, Rheinstars Köln in Germany, and the University of Bath in the UK.

Yes — that is what the programs are built to do. EuroProBasket evaluates players during the program and presents them to professional clubs across Europe and to universities worldwide, and keeps doing so after the program ends. More than 400 players have signed professional contracts or committed to university scholarships across 25+ countries since 2015. What is never promised is a guaranteed outcome for any individual player.

Every EuroProBasket program is for players with experience in organized competitive basketball who want to develop in a professional environment and earn an opportunity with a team. The professional programs suit players aiming at a contract in a European league. University Prep and the EuroPro Institute are for players who want a scholarship. The junior programs are for elite young players who want to develop as fast as possible.

No. EuroProBasket never guarantees a player a team or a contract, and any program that tells you otherwise is not being honest. What you get is professional preparation and exposure: European coaching, the rules and systems of the European game, and competitive games in front of coaches, managers, agents and scouts. The contract is something you earn.

Cost depends on the program, how many weeks you stay, and whether accommodation is included. Current pricing for every option is on each program page. If you are weighing up two programs, or you want a length that is not listed, contact EuroProBasket and you will get a straight answer.

The Euro Professional Program runs August to December and January to March, in blocks of 3, 6, 9 or 12 weeks. The European Summer League runs April to June, in blocks of 1 to 12 weeks, timed to the start of the European signing period. The Women's Professional Program runs in three-week blocks, with January and September intakes.

University Prep runs from two to ten months across the season, August to June. The EuroPro Institute runs a full ten-month academic and basketball year. Junior programs run through June to August, with a full academic-year option at L'Alqueria for players who want the whole season in Valencia.

You do not need one. EuroProBasket places players itself: we evaluate every player in the program and present them to our own network of professional clubs and universities. We earn no commission when you sign, so every player gets the same effort. What we will never do is guarantee you a team — that part you earn.

No. Plenty of players who come to EuroProBasket have never played in college. For Americans it is the most common route and it prepares you well, but it is not the only one. European clubs sign on ability, position and how you compete — not only on where you played. What matters is showing it against professional competition.

Most players go straight to the club rather than home first, though that is between you and the team. Often you will go for a few days on trial before anything is signed. And if no offer comes during your program, EuroProBasket keeps presenting you to clubs for the rest of the season — players are regularly signed weeks or months after they leave Valencia.

Valencia has its own airport, code VLC, and it is the most direct option. Barcelona and Madrid both work, with train connections down to Valencia. EuroProBasket is based in Valencia, Spain.

Airport transfers are not included. A taxi from Valencia Airport is the simplest option and the ride is short — there are always taxis at arrivals, and Cabify and Uber both operate in the city. Carry some cash in euros, because not every foreign card works in Spain.

Go to the hotel first and check in. If you registered with accommodation included, the reservation is already in your name — give the hotel your passport and say you are with EuroProBasket. Once you are settled, send a WhatsApp to the number in your confirmation email.

That depends on your citizenship and where you are travelling from. Check with your nearest Spanish consulate or your government's official travel site before you book anything, because processing times vary a lot by country.

Yes, with the paperwork. Once you have registered and paid, EuroProBasket issues an invitation letter and an invoice — a factura in Spanish — confirming you have paid for a program in Valencia, with the accommodation and dates on it. You then apply for the visa yourself at the Spanish consulate or embassy in your home country.

Start weeks before you fly. A day in a EuroProBasket professional program is four or more hours of training, with games every week. Build up with basketball and conditioning work daily, twice a day where you can. Turning up underprepared is the fastest way to pick up an injury.

You get a detailed packing list in your confirmation email. In short: clothes for warm and cold weather — worth having in case you stay on and sign with a team — basketball shoes, any braces or compression gear you use, a towel for weight sessions, a laptop for game film if you have one, and enough of any regular medication for your whole stay.

No, and that is the point. Training is inside L'Alqueria del Basket — 13 courts, the largest basketball training facility in Europe, built and run by Valencia Basket, one of Europe's leading clubs across the men's, women's and youth game, with teams in the Liga ACB, the EuroLeague and EuroLeague Women. You train in a professional European club's building, every day, around people who do this for a living.

If you registered with accommodation included, breakfast is part of the program fee and served at your hotel or residence. Lunch and dinner are your own responsibility. There is an affordable meal plan at a restaurant close to both the accommodation and the training facility, and the details come with your confirmation email.

No. The courts are closed to EuroProBasket players at weekends, and a staff member has to be present whenever a player is in the building. You already get several hours of court time every day — rest and recovery matter just as much as the training.

Spain uses the euro, and US dollars are not accepted in shops or restaurants. Bring some cash in euros for your first few days, and tell your bank you are travelling so your card is not blocked. Exchange rates move daily, so check a live rate rather than an old one.

This is almost always your bank's fraud protection rather than a problem on our side — payments from the US get blocked most often. Call your bank and authorise it. If it still will not go through, register again and choose bank transfer or PayPal. Tell us if it keeps happening and we will sort it with you.
