Benjamin Scott Tryout

EuroProBasket is proud to announce that player Benjamin Scott has left the program to attend a tryout with a Tercera FEB team located in the province of Castellon, Spain.

Scott, a 6’1.5” (187 cm) guard holding both Canadian and Belgian nationality, arrived at EuroProBasket with raw talent but a need for high-level exposure. After a dominant showing during his time in the program, he has secured an opportunity to prove himself at the professional level in Spanish basketball.

A Return to the Court

Hailing from Montreal, Canada, Scott’s path to professional basketball was not a straight line. He previously played for Jean-de-Brébeuf High School Division 1 in Quebec, with his last organized stint ending around 2017.

Despite the gap in his resume, Scott came to EuroProBasket in November 2025 with a specific goal: to gain the organized team experience he was missing.

“My issue is that I didn’t have a lot of team experience,” Scott explained during his exit interview. “That’s what EuroPro gave me. It gave me structured games with a coach, good teammates, and just experiencing games against other competitive teams.”

Dominating the Stat Sheet

Once he stepped onto the court at l’Alqueria del Basket, Scott wasted no time proving his ability. Over the course of three games, he put up incredible numbers, averaging a near triple-double.Scott finished his program tenure with averages of 20.7 points, 7.7 rebounds, and 6.3 assists per game, while also contributing on defense with 1.0 steal per game. His ability to impact every aspect of the game drew immediate interest from teams looking for a versatile guard.

Adapting to the European Game

Transitioning from North American basketball to the European style requires adjustment, something Scott acknowledged was a key takeaway from the program.

“I learned a lot. I learned how to push the ball more,” Scott noted. “European basketball is really fast-paced compared to North American basketball.”

Through daily practices led by professional European coaches, Scott was able to refine his game speed and decision-making to match the tempo required in Spanish leagues.

The Next Step

Scott credits the program for bridging the gap between his potential and a professional opportunity. “EuroPro and their team was necessary for this,” he said. “They gave me tape [Game film], they gave me game experience, and they’re the ones who connected me with the team.”

He has now traveled to Castellon to trial with a team in the Tercera FEB (formerly known as Liga EBA), the fourth tier of the Spanish basketball league system, and one that excels in boosting players careers in Europe.

When asked what advice he would give to other players looking to play overseas, Scott kept it simple: “Sign up for the EuroPro program, get some experience, get some training directly from European coaches, and they’ll set you up.”

Good luck in Castellon, Ben!
