D’Vell Garrison Jr. has officially taken the next major step in his basketball and academic career. After showcasing his elite skills and high basketball IQ within the EuroProBasket program, D’Vell has secured a roster spot with a competitive local team in Valencia, Spain. This achievement coincides with his enrollment at the prestigious Universidad Europea de Valencia, where he is pursuing a Global Bachelor in Business Management and Entrepreneurship.

A Proven Background of Intensity and Skill

Hailing from Northern Virginia, D’Vell arrived in Spain with a reputation for “one-on-one game, shot creation, and defensive intensity.” A standout at Charles J. Colgan High School and Christ Chapel Academy, he brought a hunger for the game that was immediately evident. However, D’Vell knew that to succeed in Europe, he needed to evolve his mindset.

“The biggest adjustment for me has been learning to fully embrace a more team-oriented style of basketball and really valuing every single possession. The European game is faster, more physical, and extremely detail-oriented, and that has pushed me to become smarter, more efficient, and more versatile on the floor.”

Refining the Professional Mindset at EuroProBasket

During his time at EuroProBasket, D’Vell transformed into a polished sharpshooting facilitator. Our professional coaching staff focused on the “micro-details”—footwork, timing, and reads—that separate good players from professionals.

“The coaching here is very professional and very intentional,” says D’Vell. “We train twice a day, lift daily, and break things down in film sessions. That structure and consistency has helped me grow not only physically, but mentally. I feel more like a true professional now than ever before.”

A Bright Future in Valencia: Two Birds, One Stone

D’Vell’s journey is a blueprint for the modern student-athlete. By leveraging the EuroPro Institute, he isn’t just playing high-level basketball; he is gaining a world-class education at a Top 5 Spanish university.

“I’m studying Global Business because I’m interested in how the business side of sports works,” he explains. “What I love about this route is that it gives you a jumpstart. You’re able to play at a semi-pro or pro level while still earning your degree, instead of waiting until after graduation.”

A Message to Future Players

D’Vell’s 10/10 recommendation for the program comes from the heart. He encourages anyone feeling limited by traditional routes to look toward Europe. “I would tell them to take the risk. Never put a limit on what God has for you in this life. There’s a whole world out there, and you should use every opportunity available to grow—as a player and as a person.”
