Chris Dixon, a 6’5″ American Forward, has officially committed to a University in the United Kingdom. Chris will be pursuing a Master’s degree in Data Science while competing at both the university level and in the NBL (National Basketball League). This commitment comes on the heels of a dominant season in Spain, where Chris was instrumental in leading his team to a regular season championship and a deep playoff run.

A Foundation of Defensive Excellence

Standing 6’5” Chris has built a reputation as a defensive anchor. Throughout his journey—from Northwood and Albert Einstein High School to various elite academies—Chris has consistently been named Defensive Player of the Year. However, it was his move to EuroProBasket that truly refined these natural instincts into professional-grade fundamentals.

The EuroProBasket Evolution: “Good to Great”

During his time in the EuroProBasket program and his subsequent season with Club Deportivo San Agustin Madrid, Chris underwent a tactical transformation. “The biggest difference for me in Spain was the emphasis on ball movement and team-first basketball,” Chris shared. “I had to make faster decisions and process the game quicker. It helped me turn ‘good shots into great shots’ and become a better leader.”

Chris didn’t just learn to play faster; he learned to play smarter. At EuroProBasket, he moved beyond relying on sheer athleticism. “I really learned how to use my physical tools more effectively,” he explains. “I focused on understanding lines, angles, and defensive principles—locking into fundamentals rather than just over-jumping or over-reaching.” This disciplined approach paid off immediately, as he helped lead his Spanish squad to the top of the standings and a prestigious playoff appearance.

The Master’s Path: Data Science and the NBL

For Chris, the commitment to a UK University was a strategic “win-win.” The 10-month Master’s program in Data Science offers him a high-level academic reputation and a track record of career success, while the opportunity to play in the NBL provides a platform to compete against experienced, high-level players.
