Spain is Nathan Bausivoir-Lérus’s first stop outside France. The 19-year-old combo guard has earned a basketball tryout in Spain with a Tercera FEB club in Barcelona, with a place on the 2026-27 roster on the line.
From Marne-la-Vallée to Lille
Bausivoir-Lérus came up through the French system. He started at Marne-la-Vallée Basket, played U15 Elite France, then moved north to Lille Métropole Basket Club.
His 2024-25 season with LMBC’s U18 Elite France team is the one that built his case: 19 games, 31 minutes a night, 16.5 points, 2.1 rebounds, 3 assists and 0.5 steals. That season gave him the most leverage for opportunities abroad.
The year after, he earned a place on LMBC’s senior Nationale 3 roster as an 18-year-old, 19 games of it, on a team that won promotion to Nationale 2. The minutes were short. Holding a senior roster spot at that age, in that system, is not a small thing.
He is a 6’2″ combo guard who can run either backcourt spot. He creates separation with speed, he is comfortable from mid-range out to the three, and he holds his intensity through a full training block. He is a good teammate, and there is still room left in the game.
What did Nathan Bausivoir-Lérus do in Valencia?
He joined EuroProBasket’s Euro Professional Program in Valencia, Spain in August 2026 and went straight at the parts of his game that travel: range on the jump shot, creating space off the dribble, and repeating his effort through two sessions a day.
Three weeks in he put a full game together against European competition, 25 minutes for 16 points, four rebounds, three assists and three steals. Film and a stat line like that travel.
The tryout in Barcelona
Six weeks after he landed in Valencia, Bausivoir-Lérus was invited to Barcelona to try out with a Tercera FEB club for the 2026-27 season. It is his first time with a Spanish club and the first time he has played outside France.
Tercera FEB is hard to get into. Spain runs one of the deepest systems anywhere, and rosters there are contested by players from the United States, Africa and across Europe. Guards who produce move up the pyramid. This is an invitation, not a contract. What happens next is on him.
What is Tercera FEB?
Tercera FEB is one of the national divisions of the Spanish basketball federation’s competition pyramid, played by clubs across Spain including Catalonia. Rosters there mix Spanish players with Americans, Africans and players from across Europe, which is what makes a spot worth earning.
How fast can a player earn a tryout overseas?
Faster than most players expect, when the film, the numbers and the exposure are all there. Nathan Bausivoir-Lérus joined EuroProBasket’s Euro Professional Program in Valencia in August 2026 and had a tryout with a Spanish club six weeks later.
Game film, stats and exposure are what move a player. The games are professionally recorded, and the film and the numbers go to EuroProBasket’s scouting network, which is how a 19-year-old out of Lille ended up in a Barcelona gym.
