Women’s Professional Program

The EuroProBasket Women’s Professional Program is for female basketball players ready to turn their game into a professional career in Europe. You train twice a day in Valencia, Spain, play competitive games, and get seen by the people who decide who gets signed.

EuroProBasket has been placing women with European clubs since 2017, in six countries across Europe.

Players usually start by searching for overseas women’s basketball tryouts. This is not a one-day tryout. It is a three-week program in Valencia, Spain, where European clubs watch you train and play over weeks rather than minutes — which is how signings here actually happen.

If you are still working out whether this is the right move, start with how women play professional basketball overseas — what clubs look for, how the season works, and where this program fits.

Where you train

We train and play at L’Alqueria del Basket — 13 courts, the largest basketball training facility in Europe, owned by Valencia Basket. Valencia is the epicenter of basketball in Europe.

EuroProBasket is partnered with Valencia Basket — a club that competes in the Liga Femenina Endesa and EuroLeague Women, among the strongest women’s leagues in the world and Europe’s top club competition. Spanish league champions in 2023, 2024, 2025 and 2026, EuroCup Champions in 2021 and EuroLeague Final Four in 2025.

The club runs both a First Division and a Third Division women’s team in Spanish league competition. That is the standard you are training beside every day.

September or January

Next editions: 10–30 January 2027 and 3–23 September 2027. Three weeks each, in Valencia, Spain. Registration closes two weeks before each start date, and spots are limited — editions fill up in advance.

September — European Pre-Season is offered during the busiest signing period in Europe. We want our female players to be here training and showcasing themselves to teams when they are most likely to be signed. Players will not only get themselves in game shape but also learn the rules and tactics that will make them successful players here in Europe.

January — Europe’s 2nd Signing Period is the second busiest signing period in Europe. If you missed out on signing with a professional team at the beginning of the season, give yourself the opportunity to finish the season with a team in Europe with EuroProBasket’s 2nd Signing Period program in January.

Which one should you choose? Both are real signing windows and both fill up. We are not going to tell you one is better than the other, because it would not be true. The question that decides it is a practical one: when can you actually get to Spain and commit to the full program? Come in the window you can genuinely make.

What you get

  • Two sessions a day — skills development, strength and conditioning, and tactical work
  • Professional coaches who know the European game and how it differs from the one you have been playing
  • Games against local Spanish club teams, filmed for your highlight tape *
  • Seen by the people who sign players — European coaches, scouts and agents
  • Over 400 players signed to their first overseas contracts
  • Living in Valencia alongside other players with exactly the same goal

* Games depend on opposing teams being available to play, and on there being enough players in the program to field a team.

Is this you?

This program is built for you if:

  • You have finished college, or you never went, and your next step is a first professional contract
  • You are between 18 and 33 and fit enough to train twice a day for weeks at a time
  • You can get to Spain and hold a passport that lets you stay for the length of the program
  • You want European clubs watching you play, rather than sending emails and hoping to be noticed

It’s not right for you if:

  • You don’t want to work hard
  • Your focus is not to improve
  • You’re not open to constructive criticism
  • You’re carrying an injury that prevents you competing at a high level

What a week actually looks like

Every day is two sessions, and the pattern repeats through the program. The point is volume: reps, film and games, week after week.

  • Mornings — practice with professional coaches at L’Alqueria del Basket
  • Afternoons — second session: skill work, strength and conditioning, or team practice
  • Game days — competitive games against local clubs
  • Film — every game filmed and reviewed, and your game film goes directly to clubs

The longer you stay, the more of all of it you get: more time to adapt to the European game, more practices, more games for your highlight tape, and more time for us to find the right fit for you.

Where our women have signed

Every woman EuroProBasket has placed came through this program. They have signed in Spain, Portugal, Kosovo, the United Kingdom, Italy and Croatia, and they are still signing. In most editions more than one player signs, and more again go on tryouts with clubs.

Recently: Gemima Motema and Daeja Quick both signed for the 2026-27 season, in Portugal and in Alicante, Spain. Chloe Chapman went to Kosovo and Jaida Muhammad to the United Kingdom for 2025-26. The year before that, Madison Shelton signed in La Palma and Durga Dharmadhikari in the United Kingdom.

Taneka Rubin signed in Portugal, and a Portuguese club signed her multiple years in a row through our contacts. Getting the first contract is the hard part — but being kept is what tells you the first one was real.

Every player named here has her own page on this site, with her position, where she signed and the season. So does everyone else we have placed. See every player we have signed.

What happens after the program

Here is how it actually works, with nothing dressed up.

While you are here, you are being watched by people who matter — that is the whole reason for doing this in Valencia rather than at home. Throughout the course of the program and after you leave, we offer your film and profile to our connections, which are deep and include the best leagues in the world. Those connections run through the WNBA, EuroLeague Women and Liga Femenina Endesa among many others. Coaches ask us about players, and we tell them what we saw.

Clubs make their own decisions, on their own timelines, based on their own needs — a club that needs a guard in October is not the same club that needs a forward in January. EuroProBasket puts you in the room and puts your film in front of the right people. The contract is still something you earn.

Over 400 players have earned one.

Women's Professional Program FAQ

Answers for female players considering EuroProBasket's Women's Professional Program in Valencia, Spain — dates, who it is for, what is included and how signing actually happens.

How long is the Women's Professional Program and when does it run?

The Women's Professional Program is a three-week, 20-day intensive. It runs twice a year: a September edition timed to European pre-season, while club rosters are still being built, and a January edition timed to Europe's second signing period, when teams replace injured or underperforming players. The next editions run 10–30 January 2027 and 3–23 September 2027. Registration closes two weeks before each start date, and spots are limited.

Who is the Women's Professional Program for?

It is built for female basketball players who want to sign professionally in Europe — players finishing college, players already professional who want a stronger position in the European market, and players who cannot get European exposure at home. EuroProBasket's professional placement programs are open to players aged 18 to 33.

What is included in the Women's Professional Program?

Included are practices with professional coaches, games, game film posted to YouTube, practice uniforms, game uniforms and a warm-up shirt, and direct introductions to European coaches, agents and scouts. Players are taught European rules, systems and tactics, and how the European market, agents and contracts work. Hotel accommodation in shared rooms with breakfast is an option on both editions — when you register you choose with hotel or without. Single rooms are available for an additional fee with advance notice.

Where do you train and who do you play against?

Training and games take place at L'Alqueria del Basket in Valencia, the training complex owned by Valencia Basket, one of Europe's leading clubs in women's basketball. Players compete against professional and semi-professional local teams; the number of games depends on the availability of opposition and the number of players in the program.

How much does the Women's Professional Program cost?

Cost depends on which edition you attend and whether you include hotel accommodation. Current pricing is listed in the Prices section of this page. To ask about availability for your dates or get a quote, contact EuroProBasket.

What happens after the program — will I get signed?

EuroProBasket does not guarantee any player a team. It guarantees the opportunity — the gym, the games, the film, and exposure to its contacts at clubs across Europe. It has placed over 400 players with their first overseas clubs, introduces every player directly to European coaches, agents and scouts, and shares game film. Both editions are deliberately timed to European signing windows, so interest often arrives during or shortly after the program.

What happens if I get injured during the program?

Tell us straight away. You will be looked at, and we will adjust your training so you can keep working without making it worse. If you are already carrying an injury that stops you competing at a high level, wait and come when you are right. The program only works if you can play.

Do I need an agent before I come?

No. A lot of our players arrive without one and leave with one. Agents come through Valencia and watch our games, and part of what we do is make those introductions. If you already have an agent, that is fine too — we work alongside them rather than around them.
