Deema Fatani, 5’2″ Saudi Arabian point guard, arrived in Ireland for a weekend tryout with two Irish teams. Deema attended EuroProBasket’s Woman’s Program in September of 2022 in order to enter the European basketball market.
She has experience playing basketball with a Saudi team in her home city of Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. She worked her way into the starting point guard position in the Saudi Arabian National Team.

With a practice last night and another tonight, she will prepare for a tournament this weekend. The tournament will provide exposure for two potential openings with two different teams in Ireland.
Deema’s goal is to make it to the top levels of European basketball. She is very motivated and had this ambition since she started playing basketball at the age of 8.
She has already taken the first step to make her dreams of playing at the highest European levels a reality by making the move to EuroProBasket. With this tryout she is on the doorstep of a professional basketball contract in Europe.
The ball is in her court and she is more prepared than ever after two weeks of intense workouts with EuroProBasket professional coaches and trainers. Deema Fatani is motivated, determined and excited for her first opportunity in European basketball.
