Europrobasket player Lauren Varney, a 5’11” American Center, left on a one week tryout to a team in the 1st Division in Portugal. Lauren came to Europrobasket Academy in January with the hope of jump-starting her career in Europe. After finishing her third year at San Francisco State University (NCAA D2) back in 2014 she had a long stint of not playing in any professional team. The lapse in her resume made it difficult for her to get interest from professional teams overseas. After just a few days in the Europrobasket Program, Lauren received a tryout in Portugal, due to the fact she came in shape and ready to help a team. We wish you all the best Lauren!
