Europe’s Most Elite Referee Camp
EuroProBasket and L’Alqueria del Basket are host to some of Europe’s most prestigious referee’s during the largest senior summer league in Europe. The Lamonica Latisevs Referee Camp presented by EuroProBasket will have two of the Euroleague’s most well known referees along with the top 18 referee’s from all across Europe. The European Summer League’s games will be the platform for the referee’s training and exposure. The 18 invited referees will take part in officiating the summer league games while partaking in morning video sessions led by Luigi Lamonica and Olegs Latisevs.

Luigi Lamonica – Pescara, Italy
When you hear the name in Europe, you know that the Euroleague and officiating is most likely involved. Luigi is one of the longest-tenured referees on the old continent. With 2021-22 being his last season officiating, Luigi has been with the Euroleague for 21 seasons. He’s officiated 10 Euroleague Final Fours. In terms of International competition, Luigi Lamonica has officiated the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, the 2010 World Cup in Turkey, the 2011 European Championships in Lithuania, the 2012 Olympic Games in London, the 2013 European Championships in Slovenia, and the 2014 Fiba World Cup in Spain. He was presented the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic, which is the highest honor in his home country.
Oļegs Latiševs – Riga, Latvia
A Euroleague referee since 2007 and an official referee since 2000, at the age of 20, Olegs Latisevs paved his way to the top ranks of the basketball officiating World. Latisevs has been a Euroleague referee since 2007. He was a part of the NBA Summer League as a referee in 2013. He officiated games in the FIBA Basketball World Cup in 2010 held in Turkey and in Spain the year 2014. He also officiated the Olympic Games in London 2012 and Rio de Janeiro 2016.
Luigi Lamonica Referee Clinic – Interpretation of Contact
During the European Summer League, Luigi Lamonica will head a referee clinic covering the “Interpretation of Contact”. With his decades of experience, all individuals in attendance will gain a lot of insight into how elite referee’s interpret contact and make calls accordingly. Entrance to the entire European Summer League and the Luigi Lamonica Referee Clinic are free of charge. The referee clinic will be on June 19th 2022 at 10:30 AM in L’Alqueria del Basket Center Court.
