FILIPPOS VAN DEN WOUWER

Filippos Van den Wouwer, a 29-year-old Greek/Belgian Small Forward, has signed a contract with a team in Cordoba, Spain, following his participation in the EuroProBasket program. The signing is a culmination of his efforts to secure a professional opportunity outside of Greece, where he has been playing for years. The EuroProBasket program served as the perfect platform for him to showcase his skills to European teams, scouts, and agents.

Van den Wouwer has a distinguished playing history in Greece, competing in various leagues including ESKAK and ESKA. His most recent team was Leontas Lexaiou 2014 BC in the 2024-25 season. Beyond his league play, he has a history of success in tournaments, including winning the 1st 3-on-3 Tournament “Road to Glory” by Novibet, which included a prize of attending a 2025-26 NBA match in the US. He also won the 3-Point Contest at the same tournament.

During his time at EuroProBasket, he trained and played in multiple showcase games against competitive Spanish teams, including a matchup against CB Godella (Tercera FEB). A key aspect of the program is the provision of game film which he lacked before attending. This film was instrumental in giving teams, like his new club in Cordoba, the ability to evaluate his value as a player. In one of his showcase games against Team Select on August 21, 2025, he played 27 minutes, scoring 12 points while adding 7 rebounds, 3 assists, and 10 steals. In another game against Team Cataluña on August 14, 2025, he put up 7 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists, 5 steals, and 1 block in 25 minutes.

Filippos Van den Wouwer quickly made an impact with his new team scoring 20 points in his debut game, demonstrating his value and readiness to contribute immediately to his new team’s success.
