Spain, for a second straight season. Giel Rademaker has signed with a team in Murcia for 2026-27, about three months after playing the EuroProBasket European Summer League in Valencia.
Rademaker is a 20-year-old, 6’5″ Dutch-French forward. He spent 2025-26 with CB Sant Feliu in Catalunya, playing for former Liga ACB coach Alfred Julbe, then came back to Valencia for the May 2026 European Summer League before signing in Murcia.
Giel’s hometown is Perpignan, in the south of France, and his club basketball before Spain came with Salses le Château BC. In 2024-25 he moved to Valencia for ten months in EuroProBasket’s University Prep Program, with daily training, weight sessions, film work and multiple games a week.
That program is built for players aiming at US and Canadian university scholarships, and it also fits players who are still deciding. Giel weighed both routes and chose European basketball. He closed the year as Most Improved Player at the June 2025 European Summer League.
That choice took him to CB Sant Feliu for 2025-26, and to one of the most experienced coaches in Spanish basketball. Alfred Julbe has coached 542 games in the Liga ACB with Joventut Badalona, Girona, Zaragoza and Cáceres, and he won the Copa del Rey with Joventut in 1997.
His résumé runs well past that. He has coached FC Barcelona’s junior team, Limoges CSP in France and Egypt’s men’s national team, and he has won the Copa de la Reina in the women’s game. Spanish basketball has long rated him among its best at developing young players.
Giel played 26 games for Sant Feliu, averaging 6 points in 18 minutes and shooting 42% inside the arc. Eighteen minutes a night from a coach with 542 ACB games behind him is a scouting report on its own, because Julbe had no reason to trust a first-year forward with those minutes unless he earned them.
Giel returned to Valencia in May 2026 for a three-week European Summer League block, this time with a full Spanish season behind him. Across four games he averaged 6.5 points, 3.3 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 1.5 steals and 0.8 blocks in 20.9 minutes.
The defensive numbers are the ones a coach circles. A forward getting 1.5 steals and close to a block a game in 21 minutes is disrupting possessions, and that kind of activity fits any system in Europe.
About three months after the European Summer League, Giel signed with a team in Murcia for the 2026-27 season. The move takes him from Catalunya to the southeast of Spain for his second straight season on a Spanish roster.
Both signings came from the same three things: game film, stats and exposure. He brought a full season of Sant Feliu film and numbers, played four ESL games in front of European coaches, agents and scouts, and his profile kept reaching clubs after the league ended.
