HAKEEM HANSEN

Hakeem Hansen, a 6’0” Swedish Shooting Guard signed with a team in the Valencia Community of Spain for the 2025-26 season. Hansen, following the completion of the Euro Professional Program, has made the leap to Spanish basketball, to a club where he will train and play games with the second team while gaining invaluable experience practicing with the first team, which competes in the highly competitive Segunda FEB league, the third division of Spanish basketball.

At just 19 years old, Hakeem Hansen is taking the biggest step in his young career. This move marks his first time playing with a team outside of his home country of Sweden, an exciting challenge that is a testament to the development and exposure he received at EuroProBasket. The 6’0″ (183 cm) Shooting Guard brings a solid background of play in his home country.

Before his arrival in Spain, Hansen played for Norrköping Dolphins in the Basketettan Södra (Swedish 3rd league) during the 2024-2025 season. His shooting ability was highlighted by a top-10 ranking in his league, finishing 9th place for most 3pt made in the Swedish 3rd league for 2024-2025.

His statistical contributions for Norrköping Dolphins demonstrated his effectiveness, averaging 8.4 points and 2.3 total rebounds across 25 games. His sharp shooting touch is evident in his 36.2% three-point percentage.

Hakeem’s signing is another success story for the Euro Professional Program at EuroProBasket, which is specifically designed to provide aspiring professional players with the coaching, training, and competitive opportunities needed to succeed in the European market. Training and playing in the basketball hotbed of Valencia, Spain, players gain exposure to European coaches, scouts, and agents, drastically increasing their chances of signing a contract overseas.

By joining his new club in Valencia, Hakeem Hansen is now on an accelerated pathway. He will compete at a high level and be constantly challenging himself by participating in practice with the first team in the demanding Segunda FEB, which is known for its high level of play and professionalism.
