Irish guard Oisin O'Hanlon training in Valencia, Spain before signing for the 2026-27 season

OISIN O’HANLAN

Position: Shooting Guard

City: Valencia, Spain

Year: 2026-27

Another EuroProBasket guard has signed in Valencia, Spain for the 2026-27 season. Oisin O’Hanlon, an 18-year-old Irish shooting guard, put his name on it within two months of playing the European Summer League in the same city.

From Cork to Valencia

O’Hanlon came up through Irish basketball. In 2023-24 he averaged 15.3 points, 3.9 assists and 3.6 rebounds in 30 games for Ballincollig BC in Cork, shooting 54% from two and 45% from three. He has represented Ireland at U18, U17 and U15 level.

Three summers, three signings

That summer he came to Valencia for the European Summer League for the first time: a 16-year-old playing four games against grown men, 19.8 minutes a night, 7.3 points. He signed with CD Don Bosco in Valencia for 2024-25 and gave them 14.1 points, 3.6 rebounds and 3.6 assists in 36 games on 53% from two and 44% from three.

He came back the next June, played the Summer League again, and moved up: CB Estudiantes Cartagena in Murcia for 2025-26. The scoring came down to 13.1 points and everything else went up — 4.1 assists, 3.4 rebounds, 53% from two, 43% from three, 83% at the line in 28 games.

Then this June, a third Summer League. Ten points in 23.9 minutes across four games, 36% from three, 85% from the free throw line, and 14 points in Game 8 against Murcia on 20 June.

Every Spanish roster spot he has earned has come on the back of one of those summers.

What the film shows

The clearest jump is the assist column: 0.3 per game in the 2024 Summer League, 1.8 this June, and 4.1 for his club last season. He has become a guard who makes the next pass, and that is the version European coaches want.

The move

He signed for 2026-27 with a club in Valencia, the same city where he competed in June. Spain is one of the deepest basketball countries in Europe and roster spots are hard to earn at any level, especially at 18. Three summers of production and a stack of film are what earned this one.

How do players sign in Spain after the European Summer League?

They produce in front of people who sign players. EuroProBasket games are professionally recorded and shared with a scouting network of coaches, agents and GMs across 20+ countries. Since 2015, 400+ players have signed and committed in 25+ different countries. Receipts, not promises.

If you want the same route, it starts at the European Summer League in Valencia. The full list of players signed and committed is public.
