Oisin O’Hanlon, an 18-year-old shooting guard from Ireland, has secured his second contract with a Spanish team, this time in Cartagena, following a successful appearance at the EuroProBasket European Summer League in June 2025. This signing is a testament to the opportunities provided by the EuroProBasket program and O’Hanlon’s consistent development as a player.
O’Hanlon’s journey began in Ireland, where he represented his country on the U15, U17, and U18 national teams. He played for Ballincollig BC in Cork during the 2023-24 season, where he averaged 16.8 points per game over 30 games.
His move to Spain in the 2022-23 season saw him join the City of Badajoz Basketball Academy (CBA), where he averaged 15.4 points per game. The following season, he continued his development with CD Don Bosco Junior A in Valencia, averaging 14.5 points per game across 36 games. A game against Elche Junior A on November 3, 2024, highlighted his scoring ability when he put up 22 points.
O’Hanlon’s participation in the EuroProBasket European Summer League has been a key factor in his success, especially considering he is typically the youngest player in the program. His first appearance in the summer of 2024 led to him signing with CD Don Bosco in Valencia. The following summer, in June 2025, he returned to EuroProBasket and once again secured a contract, demonstrating the program’s value as a pathway to professional basketball in Europe.
