European clubs do their most important signing at the end of the season. League leaders, the players who take up the largest share of a team’s budget — those deals are done in late spring and early summer. The EuroProBasket European Summer League puts you in front of the people making them, before the summer has properly started.

Who is in the gym

European professional coaches, teams, agents, scouts and general managers attend. You are not sending film into an inbox — you are playing in front of them.

The coaches working the league are professionals with their own clubs. They go back to those teams at the end of the summer, and players they coached here have been signed as a result.

Where you play

Now in its twelfth edition, this is the largest and longest-running basketball summer league in Europe.

The league runs at L’Alquería del Basket in Valencia: 13 courts, and the home of Valencia Basket, a club that competes in the Liga ACB and the EuroLeague — the strongest domestic league and the strongest club competition in world basketball outside the NBA. EuroProBasket has run programs in Spain since 2015 and has been based in Valencia since 2018.

More than 400 players from over 25 countries have come through. Valencia also sits in the middle of European basketball — Spain, France, Italy, Portugal and Germany are all a short flight or train ride away, which is why scouts travel here.

Who this is for

Only high-level players are accepted. Apply if you have high-level collegiate experience, previous professional experience, or both. The teams attending are looking for players with experience. If you do not have it yet, the 9 or 12 week block or the Euro Professional Program is the better route.

Who is eligible for the European Summer League?

EuroProBasket accepts only high-level players into the European Summer League. You should apply if you have high-level collegiate experience, previous professional experience, or both. The program is built to evaluate players against professional competition, not to build a foundation from scratch.

When does the European Summer League run and how long is it?

The European Summer League runs through the European off-season and finishes in late June. Players choose a 1, 3, 6, 9 or 12-week block; longer blocks start progressively earlier in April or May, and every block finishes on the same closing date. The 2026 dates are listed on this page as a guide; exact 2027 dates confirm in December 2026. EuroProBasket has run the league since 2015, in Girona until 2018 and in Valencia since then. 2027 is its twelfth edition.

What is included in the European Summer League?

Every block includes professional coaching, a minimum of four competitive games, game film, practice and game uniforms, hotel accommodation in shared rooms with breakfast, and direct introductions to European coaches and scouts. Longer blocks add weight-room sessions. Players also receive EuroProBasket's education in European rules, systems and the professional market.

How much does the European Summer League cost?

Price depends on the block you choose — one week through twelve — and whether you take the option that includes hotel accommodation. Current pricing is shown in the Prices section of this page. Places are limited and often released by email request, so contact EuroProBasket for availability and a quote.

Will I need a visa to play in the European Summer League?

It depends on your citizenship. Once registration and payment are complete, EuroProBasket provides an invitation letter and a Spanish invoice (factura) stating the program, accommodation and dates, which you submit with your own documents when applying in your home country. Check requirements with your local Spanish consulate before booking flights.

What happens after the European Summer League?

Games are filmed and shared, and players are introduced directly to the European coaches, agents and scouts connected to the program. Some players receive interest during the league and others afterwards. EuroProBasket does not guarantee a contract — it guarantees that European decision-makers see you play. Whether an offer follows depends on your level, experience and attitude.
