Lithuanian Coach Justinas Spokas

Justinas Spokas brings a wealth of experience, dedication, and a unique coaching philosophy to EuroProBasket. With a career spanning various levels of basketball development and an impressive educational background, Justinas is set to significantly impact the growth and success of our aspiring professional players.

Justinas’s journey in basketball began early, starting with his attendance at the Arvydas Sabonis Basketball Academy in Kaunas, Lithuania, in 1997. This foundational experience laid the groundwork for a lifelong commitment to the sport. His pursuit of knowledge in coaching is evident through his numerous certifications and specialized courses. He earned a Superior Level 3 coaching certification from the Spanish Basketball Federation between 2016 and 2019, followed by online ACB courses with renowned coaches Xavi Pascual (2017-2018) and Pedro Martinez (2018-2019). His commitment to continuous learning culminated in the ProCoach Expert course at UCAM University in 2019-2020 and becoming a Certified FIBA Coach in 2020. Most recently, in 2022, he participated in the International Level 4 Coach Course, learning from mentors such as Želimir Obradović, Xavi Pascual, Ioannis Sfairopoulos, and Igor Kokoškov.

Beyond formal education, Justinas has enriched his coaching perspective through participation in various high-profile camps. He served as Head Coach at the PRO ATTACK Camp for professional players in Gran Canaria in 2016 and coached at the Sarunas Jasikevicius Playmaker Camp in Montanya, Barcelona, in both 2017 and 2018. His involvement with the Aito Garcia Improve basketball Camp for coaches in Valencia in 2018 and mentoring the Japanese Fujieda Meisei High School in Barcelona the same year further highlight his diverse engagement in the basketball community. His experience even extends to our very own Valencia Basket Europrobasket summer skills academy in 2022 and the Wasserman Pro Camp in 2025.

Justinas’s coaching experience is extensive and varied, showcasing his versatility and ability to work with different age groups and skill levels. He began as an individual skill development coach in Kaunas, Lithuania, from 2011 to 2014, and continued in Barcelona from 2014 to 2015. He then took on head coaching roles for U14 and U18 teams at CB Castelldefels (2015-2017), simultaneously serving as Assistant Coach for their Men’s senior team in the EBA league. His progression continued as Assistant Coach for Men’s senior CB L’Hospitalet in LEB Silver (2017-2018).

Notably, Justinas is no stranger to EuroProBasket, having served as coach for EuroProBasket from 2018 to 2019, and then again as a coach from 2021 to 2022. This prior experience ensures a seamless transition and a deep understanding of our program’s philosophy. His international experience includes being an Assistant Coach for Men’s senior DEAC Kosárlabda in Debrecen, Hungary (2019-2020), and Head Coach for the Bucket Summer League in Kėdainiai, Lithuania (2020). Before rejoining us, he was Head Coach for Men’s senior CB Escolapios (2020-2021) and Head Coach for CB Picanya (2022-2024), both in Valencia, Spain.

Justinas’s comprehensive background, from his formative years in Lithuania to his high-level certifications and diverse coaching roles across Europe, makes him an invaluable asset to EuroProBasket.
