Rui de Sousa Costa is a Portuguese coach with more than a decade-long coaching career. Rui has coached through all age groups, men and women, mainly focusing on working with and developing young talents for most part of his career. In recent years coach Costa moved on to coaching teams at the professional level. Having studied to be a professional coach in Portugal, he is recognized by FIBA as a WABC member. Being a detail-oriented coach whose biggest goal is to help players grow not only in what concerns basketball but also character wise, he can usually be found coaching and directing a number of basketball camps during summertime. Besides coaching, is a former player and also has experience working as a basketball writer and TV commentator for multiple Portuguese media. Currently, coach Costa works for Valencia Basket’s with the junior program as an assistant coach.
